Innovation award for DTR Medical’s Rotating Cervical Biopsy Punch

DTR Medical are the proud winners of the MediWales Innovation Award 2012 in recognition for the use of metal-injection moulding in the jaw of their latest product development - the Rotating Cervical Biopsy Punch. Utilisation of this innovative technique has allowed DTR Medical to create a high quality single-use instrument consistent in design, offering clinical performance and reliability during cervical biopsy procedures. Hosted by MediWales, the awards ceremony was held in Cardiff, Wales and followed the day’s proceedings of presentations, plenary sessions and seminars during the UK HealthTech conference. Notable guests included Baroness Ilora Finlay who judged and presented the award to Managing Director Andrew Davidson on behalf of colleagues at the UK based company. It’s Clearway or the highway with foreign body removal

DTR Medical is pleased to introduce the new Clearway Suction Handle for foreign body removal. Ideal for A&E, emergency room and Minor Injury Units, it offers an affordable and cost effective alternative without the need to compromise on quality. This latest development reduces the need for surgical intervention by the ENT department using expensive theatre time unnecessarily with potential cost savings of up to £700 per patient. It also allows for a positive and swift patient outcome by helping to alleviate the trauma often associated with being sent to distant hospitals for theatre intervention. The Clearway Suction Handle with a soft silicone suction cup can be quickly attached to a vacuum supply using suction tubing without the need for referral and is the latest addition to their extensive range of single-use ENT instruments.
